Directions to Our Home Field & Practice Locations

Directions To Yahara Rugby Field:
From outside of Madison (Milwaukee, Chicago, Minneapolis), our field is located just one mile off Interstate 90. If you are traveling up from Southwestern Wisconsin or Iowa, travel to Madison on Hwy. 151 and then around Madison's "beltline" on Hwy. 12/18 East. You will stay on 12/18 East and drive under I-90 towards our field.

From Madison, travel east on the Beltline (Hwy. 12/18) east towards the Interstate 90 interchange (far southeast Madison). Continue on Hwy. 18 east towards Cambridge under the I-90 overpass and you'll pass a Harley Davidson dealership on the right. Continue for one mile and turn left on Cty. Hwy. AB. Follow AB for two minutes, past the Crossroads Tavern and Crossroads Rugby Field (Men's Field), and you'll see a grassy field and gravel parking lot on your left (labeled practice pitch in the map below). Welcome to our field!

Winter Indoor Conditioning Practices:
(End of November - Beginning of March)
During the winter off-season, the WWRFC practices indoors at Pooley's Bar. This time of year is great for learning the sport and getting in shape at these free weekly practices. Pooley's is located on High Crossing Boulevard, four blocks east of the I-94/151 interchange by East Towne Mall.

If you're interested in additional fitness and training, members of the team can participate in rugby training with a Certified Natural Trainer at the Monkey Bar Gym on Williamson St. Classes are every Tuesday and Thursday night in February and March. The cost is $15 per week.

Summer Touch 7s Practices:
(End of May - Beginning of August)
During the summer tournament season, members of the WWRFC join Madison's men's team, the Wisconsin Rugby Club, in seven-a-side touch rugby at the U-Bay Fields behind the University of Wisconsin hospitals. Directions To U-Bay Fields: From University Avenue, turn north towards Lake Mendota on to Highland Avenue and then left on to University Bay Drive. Continue driving for three blocks and you'll see large athletic fields on your right side. Practices are held every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m.
